Don’t like that your teeth have gotten darker and looking for teeth whitening? At Station Dental, we’ve been whitening teeth for a long time. It’s a procedure we’re very familiar with and perform almost daily.
Teeth can get stained over time due to several factors. Smokers are more likely to have darker teeth because of the chemicals found in cigarettes like nicotine and tar. Additionally, people who drink coffee, tea, and soda frequently are also likely to have dark teeth. These drinks contain chemicals called chromogens that stain our teeth. There’s nothing wrong with looking for teeth whitening near you to restore your smile.
In teeth whitening, we use chemicals similar to those in bleach to remove stains from teeth. This can sound scary, but it’s completely safe when done by dentists. We use specific amounts of bleach for certain periods. Chemicals are applied using a brush, gel, or tiny cups that fit over teeth.
At Station Dental, patients ask us about how long it’ll take to get their teeth whitened. We have two answers. First, we can whiten your teeth over multiple short visits. Secondly, it’s also possible to whiten your teeth quickly in one long visit if you’re in a hurry. You can also whiten your teeth at home, but it may take longer to achieve your desired results.
People respond to teeth whitening differently. Those with yellow teeth respond best. Patients with brown teeth might not respond at all. If you choose to whiten your teeth over several visits, you’ll notice your teeth getting brighter after each session.
What if your teeth don’t respond? Patients who don’t respond to whitening don’t have to live with stained teeth. We can use veneers to cover your teeth. These are thin shells that we stick to teeth to make them brighter and improve their appearance. After examining your teeth, we might recommend veneers from the start if we think your teeth won’t respond to whitening products. To find out more about teeth whitening, get in touch with us.
